Not everybody likes the Minelab Equinox shaft – some aspect of its design is flawed. The owners complain about their arms getting tired too quickly and about the low-quality camlocks (the latter aren’t locking tight enough, thus there is a play in the shaft). But hereby you just can’t up and change your Minelab Equinox shaft. First, which item will you replace it with? Second, even if you select an appropriate option, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll be able to mount your detector’s housing on it. However, there is a very simple, inexpensive and preserving your warranty rights, solution – to use an adapter. Continue reading
If your detector requires a repair, the solution options to resolving the problem are much more important than the problem itself. All machines break down but different manufacturers provide different after-sales service and ensure different spare parts availability. However, some treasure hunters are posting multiple photos of their outings and finds that have been surely made with this machine, and even photos… of the Minelab Equinox 800 dismantling. Maybe this detector has already gone on sale, though we aren’t aware of it? Continue reading
However strange it may sound, but the Minelab CTX 3030 owners feel indignant. Everyone has been aware of the fact the Minelab Equinox waterproof headphones connector doesn’t fit into any socket on other Minelab devices. But recently Minelab announced the price for their Equinox waterproof headphones — $130. Hence if you have two Minelab machines (turns out, there is a great deal of such owners), you have to buy also two pairs of headphones. Even despite the fact that these ones are identical, the difference lies only in the connector. Do you think Minelab did it deliberately or inadvertently? Continue reading
