Minelab Excalibur 2

A great comparison of metal detectors: saltwater test

Minelab Equinox, Quest PRO, Makro Multi Kruzer, XP Deus, Garrett AT MAX, and others…
Here is great comparative testing of metal detectors in saltwater. Which one will be the best? It’s really an interesting (and important) test! Continue reading

Minelab Equinox 800 Gold Chain Test (+ XP Deus)

A chain is a very difficult target for any metal detector. The point is that the machine sees each chain link separately. And if your device can’t detect chains, it simply hasn’t enough sensitivity. But if on top of all this a chain is made of gold, your detector’s essential capabilities – accurate discrimination and sensitivity to super-tiny targets – should come into play. Here’s an illustrative test of how the Minelab Equinox 800 is seeing a gold chain. Plus, the similar test: comparison with an XP Deus. Continue reading

Comparison: Minelab Equinox 800 vs Excalibur 2. Salt Test (depth)

Now they are getting what they deserve – any beeping rod is ‘keen’ to overtop the new product at least somehow. And believe me, there are machines that will be able to do it. Here’s an interesting test: what will happen if you take a waterproof Minelab Excalibur 2, a good device designed for hunting in saltwater, and see how deep it is in salt sand compared to the Minelab Equinox 800. Which detector will have greater depth and better detection abilities? Continue reading
