Teknetics Tek-Point probe (price, depth test, photos, video, specs). NEW 2017

Teknetics have revealed a new product 2017 – the Teknetics Tek-Point probe… There exist some trends in the metal detecting world: a modern pinpointer must be bright, as easy to use as possible and submersible. Teknetics don’t know anything about these trends, they want their pinpointer to be dark-colored and with a bolt. So here comes the Teknetics Tek-Point, a new product 2017! Continue reading

Minelab Pro-Find 35 Salt Water Beach Test

While working with the Minelab Pro-Find 35 in saltwater it’s necessary to reduce sensitivity by using the +/- buttons. The junior Pro-Find 15 doesn’t have these ones, however. So, isn’t it possible to use the junior in saltwater? Certainly not. And this is primarily because of the fact that the probe should be able to withstand submersion. The Pro-Find 35 is submersible whereas the Pro-Find 15 isn’t. Here’s an interesting and useful test: how the Minelab Pro-Find 35 works in dry and wet sand, how it behaves when submerged in water, how buoyant it is. Continue reading

Bounty Hunter Tracker Pro (the Equinox killer, video). NEW 2017

Bounty Hunter has released a new metal detector 2017 – the Bounty Hunter Tracker Pro… It’s either the manufacturer who produces the same machines in different packages, or they simply have already got tired of MD hobbyists, so they get us to ride on their ‘merry-go-round’ waiting until we feel sick to our stomachs. Continue reading

Fisher F-Pulse pinpointer (video, price). NEW 2017

Can any emptiness be sold to hobby enthusiasts, and at a very high price? Fisher have revealed a new product 2017 – the Fisher F-Pulse pinpointer. First, I’ve already seen this probe somewhere. Second, I’ve also seen some product of the same color. Third, it’s no good writing mistakes in their own product’s name. Anyway, welcome the newly produced unit! Continue reading

Comparison: Garrett AT MAX & Garrett AT PRO. Depth + salt test

It’s strange, very strange, when the manufacturer has to prove that its new machine is on par with an old one. But it’s difficult to prove it if the new detector looks and works similarly to the old one. For example, the manufacturer says that the new Garrett AT MAX provides greater detection depth than the old Garrett AT PRO. But is it true? Both devices actually come with identical coils. Or, as another example, according to Garrett, on salt beach (and in saltwater) will the Garrett AT MAX operate considerably better than the Garrett AT PRO. Here’s a salt beach test: to compare the Garrett AT MAX and Garrett AT PRO. Also, a depth test: how the machines react to salt sand and water. Continue reading
