Changes in Garrett AT PRO. Upgrading the Legend

Nobody will argue that the Garrett AT PRO has been able to win its place in the history of metal detectors. Having taken this place, it set a new vector for MD hobby development. It was the Garrett AT PRO that launched an era of amphibian machines. However, the legend has become a bit outdated, so the manufacturer has made some changes to it. These are surely very important improvements – new owners (they and they alone) will forget about suffering most acute problems. Well, do you want to see an updated Garrett AT PRO? Continue reading

Comparison: Minelab Equinox 800 vs Garrett AT PRO (+ XP Deus)

To be honest, I was waiting for the comparison of the Minelab Equinox 800 not with the Minelab CTX 3030, much less with the XP Deus. Don’t make me laugh. A truly interesting detector to be compared with the Minelab Equinox 800 is the Garrett AT PRO. That’s really intriguing! And it finally happened: here’s a comparison between the Minelab Equinox 800 and Garrett AT PRO + XP Deus. Continue reading

Garrett AT PRO Secrets after years of searching. I didn’t know that

99% of the Garrett AT PRO owners don’t know one simple fact about this machine. So they use their devices being scared themselves and telling each other ‘horror stories’ about these ones. However, it’s a pure myth and fairy tale for kids. And you shouldn’t miss your finds by no means. Here are my secrets of the Garrett AT PRO after years of hunting with this detector. Let’s roll! Garrett AT Gold repair. How to open the control box

What should you do if your Garrett AT Gold emits a constant beeping sound? If you have already tried 3 different coils, but it doesn’t help. The problem isn’t unique, and there is a solution: you should dismantle your detector first. Here’s a useful video: how to open the Garrett AT Gold control box (and the Garrett AT PRO housing, too). Continue reading

Comparison: Garrett AT MAX & Garrett AT PRO. Depth + salt test

It’s strange, very strange, when the manufacturer has to prove that its new machine is on par with an old one. But it’s difficult to prove it if the new detector looks and works similarly to the old one. For example, the manufacturer says that the new Garrett AT MAX provides greater detection depth than the old Garrett AT PRO. But is it true? Both devices actually come with identical coils. Or, as another example, according to Garrett, on salt beach (and in saltwater) will the Garrett AT MAX operate considerably better than the Garrett AT PRO. Here’s a salt beach test: to compare the Garrett AT MAX and Garrett AT PRO. Also, a depth test: how the machines react to salt sand and water. Continue reading
