The new metal detectors Nokta FINDX and FINDX PRO

The manufacturer Nokta has released two new metal detectors – FINDX and FINDX Pro. Both models are designed for entry-level users. Features and specifications, video comparison, where to buy.

About the New Release

The Nokta FINDX and FINDX Pro metal detectors are lightweight single-frequency detectors, very user-friendly, affordable, and yet sufficiently effective for historical and beach searching.

The name FindX is composed of two parts – Find and X (often used to denote something unknown, it’s a marker on maps). The series includes 2 models – the junior Nokta Findx and the senior Nokta Findx PRO. The higher-end model, FINDX Pro, allows submersion underwater and comes with additional search programs.

Nokta FINDX

The metal detector operates at a frequency of 15 kHz, functioning as a single-frequency device. It offers three search programs: Field, Park, and Beach. It lacks waterproof protection, hence suitable solely for dry land use. However, its coil is waterproof and submersible underwater. The standard coil, Nokta FX28, is circular and of DD type.

Discrimination is adjustable with VDI ranging from 0 to 99, offering five sensitivity levels. Frequency shift capability is included for compensating electrical interference. Manual and Automatic Ground Balance features are available. The All Metals mode provides a threshold signal.

Volume adjustment ranges from 0 to 5. The mono LCD screen ensures high contrast, even in direct sunlight. Both the screen and keypad have backlighting. Power is supplied by a built-in battery, providing approximately 12 hours of autonomous operation. The shaft material comprises aluminum and plastic, with an adjustable length from 63 to 132 centimeters. The total weight, including the assembled unit and FX28 coil, is 1200 grams.

  • For a long time, I couldn’t believe that the Turks could make good metal detectors. But after the release of the Simplex, I changed my mind. Today, this player confidently ranks among the top3 manufacturers in the world (* This is just my opinion, of course; no such rankings are officially made).

  • How about Garrett ?

  • Experienced detector user here, started in the eighties with a C-Scope. I have just received a Nokta Find X Pro which I paid for, basically bought because of the trusted Nokta name and the fact that it is fully submersible. Sadly I am very dissapointed with this detectors performance which is nowhere as near as good at finding stuff as the cheap MD3600 which I lend to children to use. I was hoping for a little better than this from Nokta, but this detector has really made me ask what is better in this than in buying a cheap but more efficient Chinese detector, all of which in my experience of using them and reviewing them, actually work better. I cannot fault the Nokta for quality of build, it is very good, but however very much let down by its very poor performance in comparison to much cheaper products. Tried against a Dr Ötek MT X R it is a total non starter at finding things, the MT XR searching deeper and with much more consistent tones and accuracy of identification, although both are around the same price. Against a TX850 it is a complete loser, but again similarly priced. Maybe Nokta need to go back to the drawing board on this one!
