On the Garrett ACE/AT one can turn an armrest upside down and continue searching somehow. Watch the photo. I didn’t know that!
It is clear that this method won’t completely replace the armrest, but it at least provides an opportunity to finish a hunt somehow. Now I am calling to memory which detectors have the armrests’ mating parts suitable for this decision. These are the Garrett ACE 150-250-350-Euro, Garrett AT PRO/Gold; the Minelab X-Terra armrest’s lower part is imposing, the Fisher junior models are worse. All inexpensive Bounty Hunter and Teknetics models are fully perfect.
