  • Garrett at gold is very sensitive to what batteries you use or what cover it does not support the metal around the box control ,yes there may be a manufacturing defect plug or wire connectors.

    I have a Garrett AT Gold with two search coils a 5×8″ DD and a 4.5″ Sniper.
    When I try to use the 5×8″ the detector goes haywire and cannot pick up any signal,
    but when I use the 4.5″ Sniper it operates normally.Do you know how I can can test the
    5×8″ coil with a multimeter to see if it is faulty e.g resistance,impedence numbers.
