The Fisher F4 is an inexpensive ground metal detector designed to perform the various types of search tasks with maximum efficiency. This device can be used to search for ancient relics, jewellery, items and coins. The detector can be applied in coastal areas or streams, with submersion of the search coil in water up to the control box (the coil is completely waterproof only, whereas the control box of the detector isn’t).

The electronic circuitry of the Fisher F4 metal detector is based on VLF technology. The device operates at universal frequency of 7.3 kHz. The F4 is equipped with the LCD-screen that displays information about the detected target, its size, as well as battery condition. The metal discrimination on the visual scale is divided into 11 segments. The depth indicator has its grading scale with 4 values (in inches). The additional functions that enhance abilities of the detector in search include VDI/TargetID, adjustable sensitivity, ground balancing, threshold and pinpoint mode. The sensitivity is adjusted in the range of 1-6. The ground balancing in the Fisher F4 metal detector is manual and is performed with a potentiometer. The threshold operates with the automatic tuning and in manual mode. A 4-tone audio response is applied for indicating a find. The detector has a 6.35mm headphone jack.

The Fisher F4 metal detector comes with the Fisher 11”DD Bi-Axial coil as standard equipment (it’s named as 11COIL-F4F in the manufacturer’s catalogue). For this detector there exist other coils of different sizes and parameters. The power supply of the metal detector is 2 ‘krona’ batteries. The size of the device is 105-130cm (adjustable height). The weight of the Fisher F4 (assembled) is 1.2kg.
