Golden Mask Unveils the Game-Changing 4Xtreme Metal Detector for 2024

Golden Mask, a well-known Bulgarian manufacturer of metal detectors, has launched its most powerful metal detector to date—the Golden Mask 4Xtreme. This 2024 release is designed to cater to both professional treasure hunters and beginners alike, offering unparalleled depth and speed in a user-friendly package.

Golden Mask 4Xtreme

The Golden Mask 4Xtreme is powered by Multiple-Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technology, which sets it apart from traditional detectors. This advanced technology enables the 4Xtreme to achieve exceptional depth while maintaining lightning-fast recovery speed. This combination makes it an ideal choice for those who seek efficiency and precision in their treasure hunts.

A common challenge with many metal detectors is the trade-off between depth and recovery speed. Typically, detectors set for a fast recovery speed (often used in Park mode) sacrifice depth, and those set for greater depth (Field mode) tend to have slower recovery speeds. Many models offer multiple profiles for each mode, which can lead to confusion about the best settings for a given area. Users often find themselves switching between profiles and searching the same area multiple times.

The Golden Mask 4Xtreme was developed by an experienced treasure hunter who understands these challenges. The 4Xtreme combines great depth and fast recovery speed in a single device, eliminating the need to switch profiles or worry about missing targets due to suboptimal settings. With the 4Xtreme, treasure hunters can be confident that they are using the best program for the conditions, ensuring that all targets are detected with ease.

The 4Xtreme has been rigorously tested in challenging conditions, including areas with volcanic rocks (hot rocks) and soils rich in ancient Roman pottery. In these environments, it has demonstrated exceptional depth and performance, proving its capability to handle even the toughest terrains.

  • In my opinion, the manufacturer Golden Mask lags behind the global market. However, it occupies its own small niche in analogue detectors, doing its job quite well.

  • Video tests have been added. Enjoy watching and happy choosing!

  • I have been using GM detectors a good while now. Most assume all digital technology is superior but this is far from the case. The GM range offers multiple frequency analogue detectors with digital augmentation if you choose to have it which retain both depth and rapid recovery speed at the same time along with the new PWM GM 4 Xtreme which I must admit looks intriguing. They offer a screen with target ID, clever and accurate VDI readout and even without this augmentation, excellent iron discrimination and modulated sound that provides second to none target identification. They are also absent of ‘at odds’ settings that plague most all digital detectors as demonstrated in this and many other videos. Sure, your mates won’t be impressed by the ‘brand’ but we are not sheep, or are we? They will however be be rather dismayed when you find just as much as they do and even more good finds at great depth when the ground is full of unwanted targets and you don’t need to spend half the detecting day fiddling about with settings. You’ll only need one detector in most circumstance, not one for ploughed and another for pasture, GM’s work well everywhere. In addition you get one of the best carbon fibre shafts on the market, rugged but light construction, compactness for transportation, a good range of smart coils that you can choose with your initial purchase and as I have found, an ability to detect around or even under power lines with my GM6. They are sufficiently weather resistant and let’s face it, if you are an experienced diver and diving regularly with a detector, you’ll already have one that’s ergonomically suitable for the purpose, not a gangly machine designed for field and beach use despite what the ‘marketing’ tells you. If you actually stop to think about what is advantageous to you while detecting rather than just buying a detector with a big screen, tuneful start up jingle and lots and buttons and settings to ‘play’ that waste detecting time to compare with your mates, GM offer a great deal for the small money you’ll invest.

  • Pulse width modulation is a digital technique to control a signal by repeatedly toggling a signal between a high and low state in a consistent pattern. We can portray new information by changing how long the signal is high vs low. The PWM signal has two key parameters- frequency and duty cycle. Think about that!

  • ‘Mattia Detector 89’ on youtube has a new video up where he tests the 4 Xtreme for depth, he was extremely impressed. I have had a GM7 for about 8 months now and it is my go-to machine, I love it’s relative simplicity combined with power, it’s given me some nice finds from Celtic through to hammered silver (I’m in the UK). Mattia has mentioned further tests with the 4 Xtreme on a busier field (in the video he was on a quiet one) so I will watch for those before deciding whether to pull the trigger on one.
