MarsMD has rolled out a new product 2019 – MDLink wireless headphone kit. Its distinctive feature is a 1ms delay, 4 channels, and… unlimited number of receivers. No one among the md manufacturers has made such a thing. Watch the first video.
The MDLink kit turns any your headphones into a wireless headset. The device works on a “from transmitter to receiver” principle. There are two parts of this system: the first is plugged into the detector’s audio socket, the second connects to any headphones. The concept is typical, and all of the large md manufacturers are producing similar kits (Minelab, Garrett, Quest). It’s a great way to add a wireless headphone feature to your metal detector.
So, what is the difference between the MDLink and the already existing models? First of all, it’s almost instant data transfer – the delay time is nearly 1 millisecond. For your reference: the competitors could put this parameter into effect at a rate of just 20-40 ms. However, the less delay you have, the more precisely you’ll be able to locate a target, thereby avoiding the situation when the signal is slow in coming and the real location of the object doesn’t coincide with the coil position. Thus, 1 millisecond is a really awesome gain!
4 channels through which data transfer, with the channel selection indicator. One transmitter is able to transfer the signal to an unlimited number of receivers. You can switch to your detecting buddy’s channel so that you can join in and hunt together real-time. The unit also has a built-in battery with a USB charger. The transmitter and receiver battery life is up to 20 hours. The MDLink kit is very lightweight and compact.
Launch schedule: spring 2019. The cost of the MDLink is yet unknown (but it will surely be less than $100). In future, a new MarsMD Pointer will also be wireless and will be connected to the MDLink as well.
Getting more info from the manufacturer:
1. Has a standard dust- and damp-proof ability, like most other devices.
2. Works at a distance of 10-15 meters between the transmitter and the receiver, in direct visibility conditions – so it’s more than enough as for the purposes it has been created for, plus some meters to spare.
3. Weight of two housings w/o the cables: 117 grams. Transmitter: 52 g. Receiver: 65 g.
4. The receiver can be attached to clothing with the clip or be placed in a breast pocket.
5. The transmitter can be mounted on the shaft using O-ring or usual rubber bands (if O-ring is lost).
6. The MDLink works with any device that features an audio output.
7. The most important thing is that the MDLink, unlike those of its competitors, has no latency at all. Moreover, the sound coming through the headphones is clear and has no background noise.
The MDLink will be available in 2 color options: black and bright yellow.

I bet you can use the Quest detector transmitter micro usb cables for the Garrett AT, and Whites MX-Sport machines. That way you can use the MD link with those machines. Serious detecting sells them.
It would be nice if the receiver had both a 6 mm and a 3.5 mm stereo socket so that ear buds could be used also.
Sounds just what I need
When will the MD Link be available in Australia
Who will the supplier be
I might be missing something but where is the coil wire
More to the point where is the coil
Wow! This sounds interesting. The delay in the Garrett Z-Lynk is 17-milliseconds and it’s doing well. Let alone 1 ms.
I am very interested in the MD Link. Do yo have an agent in Australia? If not can you provide me with the details of how to purchase from USA?
These are going to be released on the 29th of Oct
no agent in Aus yet, but amazon.com are listing them for 120 odd USD
