  • Hello, I’m thinking of shortening a garret ace, like you have done. Would this still work properly with a larger coil? Would the closer proximity of the control box to the large dd coil cause interference or other problems?

    Is it very simple to shorten it like you have done? (Just by drilling a few more holes and sawing the shaft shorter).

    Thank you for post in this article, shortening a detector is not something I had considered before.

    • 6.5?9 ACE coil and 0.5 m – no problem. If there is a large DD coil… I do not know, it is necessary to check
